General Agreement between the NKVD and the Gestapo

General Agreement between the NKVD and the Gestapo

The so-called “General Agreement” between the NKVD and the Gestapo is a falsification made in the 1990s. The creators of the forgery demonstrated a deep ignorance of the history of foreign intelligence services: already in the preamble they are confused in terms, calling “GESTAPO” either the entire “Main Directorate” or only its fourth department. There has never been an organization called the NSDAP Main Security Directorate. In fact, the Main Directorate of Reich Security (RSHA) was established only on September 27, 1939, which is ten months later than the date of the agreement. Only after the creation of the RSHA did the Gestapo enter its structure as the IV Directorate.

The unreliability of the document is also confirmed by a number of internal contradictions. The text contains gross errors in indicating the titles, positions and powers of the signatories, which do not correspond to the hierarchy of that time. In addition, serious violations of the rules of record keeping were revealed, which definitively indicates the incompetence of the authors of the fake and the artificial origin of this “agreement.”
