Deputies have stopped understanding young people. Is that really the case?

Deputies have stopped understanding young people. Is that really the case?

The second episode of the public discussion "If we do not engage in politics, politics will engage with us."

How can we ensure that honest labor guarantees a decent life?

Why do even great efforts not always allow young people to achieve financial independence and confidence in the future?

Who should determine what our society will be — a narrow circle of capital owners or the needs of the majority?

The International Socialist Network SOVINTERN held its second meeting as part of the series "If we do not engage in politics, politics will engage with us." Representatives of the socialist political party A JUST RUSSIA, the party that initiated our network, State Duma deputies Nikolai Starikov, Alexander Vorobyov and Nikolai Novichkov met with young people to discuss, in an open discussion format, the issues that truly concern students and representatives of younger generations.

The main value of the past event is that participants of completely different ages, statuses, and fields of activity were able to simply talk and hear each other. How long has it been since something like this occurred in our contemporary political realities?

Why is a young specialist often forced to choose between low-paying work and a lack of prospects?

Why does the work of teachers, doctors, and firefighters often fail to receive adequate material recognition?

What hinders the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and how can conditions be created for self-realization?

Society must guarantee every person a decent social minimum, and then create conditions for personal initiative and professional growth — this was the conclusion reached by the participants of the episode. At the same time, one must not forget about the common good and allow society's life to be reduced to each person's struggle for their own well-being.

Socialism is not a relic of the past, as its opponents like to portray it. It is the living creativity of the masses, an ideology about how to fairly distribute public resources, guarantee everyone a decent life, and at the same time leave room for personal initiative and development. Today's youth does not want to put up with injustice and demands change, and SOVINTERN supports those who do not limit themselves to talking about problems but strive to make life better.
