Freedom for Milagro Sala! Humane treatment must be ensured for her!
SOVINTERN urgent statement: the health of Argentine community leader and indigenous representative Milagro Sala is assessed as extremely severe.
The International Socialist Network SOVINTERN joins public voices sounding the alarm over the deteriorating health of Argentine community leader and indigenous representative Milagro Sala.
Her condition is currently assessed as extremely severe. This was publicly stated by renowned Argentine physician Dr. Jorge Rachid, who directly warned:
“She feels abandoned. Deprived of liberty, she cannot make her own decisions about her own life.”
The doctor also spoke of cruel and targeted persecution of the activist, holding state institutions responsible for her physical and psychological condition:
“She has found herself in a tragic trap. The judicial system of Jujuy province has effectively sentenced her to life imprisonment, and now — to death.”
Against the backdrop of a highly alarming situation that directly threatens Milagro Sala's life, SOVINTERN demands that the judicial and political authorities of Jujuy province, as well as the national government of Argentina, immediately take humane action.
It is unacceptable for the judicial system to be used as a tool of political struggle and for political repression to turn into a silent death sentence.
We demand the immediate release of Milagro Sala and guarantee her dignified and humane treatment.
Do not let her die in prison! Release Milagro Sala immediately!
